3 ways to unlock a thoughtful brand

To me, a thoughtful brand is built on brand strategy through intentional design decisions. As a designer, I am always checking out trending fonts, fashion, and aesthetics - but I don't build your brand around what's currently HOT. Instead, I build your thoughtful brand around your audience, their preferences, and the longevity of your brand.

Here are three concepts to consider when you’re working to achieve a more thoughtful brand:

  1. Consider your audience. What do they need to hear? If you’re a photographer, maybe they need some reassurance that you can help them feel confident, happy, and a bit more carefree behind your lens.

  2. Consider what colors are true to your brand. I’ve seen a very fun neon trend in social media graphics and on websites as of late. It draws attention to buttons and graphics, and while I don’t dislike it, it doesn’t mean you need to be doing it too. I know it’s not my brand aesthetic to yell “schedule a call” in neon green, so I’m not going to do it just because I personally like it and a lot of my competitors are doing it.

  3. Consider your logo and brand visuals when selecting fonts for your website. If your designer didn’t already recommend one to three type choices, be intentional with adding new ones. That said, don’t try to use more than three! It can be really overwhelming and lead to things looking jumbled.
